The South Asia Marine and Coastal Protected Area (MCPA) web portal is an interactive platform that has been developed to facilitate regional communication linkages and improve access to information relevant to MCPAs in the South Asia region. The portal has been developed as a resource for five maritime nations of South Asia, namely Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The portal represents an interactive platform for individuals involved with any aspect of MCPA management, research and development to access information, gain access to regional networks, access information on regional and international experts, keep abreast of recent developments, and share findings and experiences.
One of the main objectives of the South Asia MCPA portal is to provide an interactive platform for users in South Asia to exchange information. Individual users can use the website to initiate a discussion with other users on issues relevant to coastal and marine protected areas of South Asia.
